Rice is kind of beautiful when you stop and think about it, isn’t it? Some things are so obviously lovely, their beauty would strike you even if you weren’t looking for it. But rice, well, I think rice falls in that category of things we must really remind ourselves to notice in their subtle beauty, because if we don’t, it may be missed altogether. And that, my Friends, is a shame. If God takes the time to pour His beauty into the world, then the least we could do is take the time to notice it, right?
Thus, I present to you, a lovely pile of brown rice…so beautiful in its uniformity of color, size, and texture. And so delicious under a giant spoon of warm, homemade, teriyaki sauce.
As for my absence from this space, I think I will give the Seinfeld version: Wrapped up school year, yada, yada, yada, I end up back here ten weeks later…I have missed you all though!
